The Hub In June 2008, the Kirk Session discussed the future of the Hub, and more widely, how the Hub could act as a catalyst to develop the Church’s role in Kirknewton. The Session saw the long-term purpose of the Hub vision was to develop Church in Kirknewton by ‘meeting people where they are’ and by serving the young people in the village; encouraging those young people and their families to come to faith. The aims of the programme for 2008/9 are two-fold. First, to be more creative in the formats used to present the Gospel and, second, to provide new ‘spaces’ for young people and their families to make the Church more attractive. The programme also seeks to provide opportunities for KNEC Church Members to serve the community of Kirknewton and become more involved in the presentation of the Gospel in the village. It is hoped this can be achieved by blending a programme of Church services, social, youth and family-centred activities and events. At its heart, the Hub programme for 2008/9 will revolve around 7 Hub youth services, once a month in Kirknewton Church. The emphasis will be on celebration and worship - including music, while retaining the multi-media and interactive elements. The suggested programme is below.
