creche
|
There is a creche during morning services at East Calder, which
caters for babies and toddlers below Sunday School age. And
it's perfectly possible to slip in and out of the service as
necessary if your "little-un" needs some TLC!

with their teachers for the first 15 minutes of the church service,

@ 11:15 am Sunday morning
Leaders: Jill Dunlop, Sarah Finegan and Kay Gardiner
If you are in 1st to 3rd year at High School in August 2008 you are invited to a Youth Café’ part way through the morning service. Please take this time each week to come and hang out with your friends and your Youth Leaders. The first week back after the summer holidays we will be setting you a mini shopping challenge - “Who can but the coolest mug for a £1?” On the first Sunday of every month (Hub Sunday) we will all sit together in church for the whole service. Please bring along with you each week a small contribution of 50p so we enjoy some juice and biscuits together. |
“In Focus” and “The Hub”
|
|
@ 6.30 pm Sunday evening
Did you know that teenagers tend to like to sleep in because they are doing so much growing that their body needs to rest? How is that for an excuse for you! We know that sometimes you don’t make it to church in the morning - so come along in the evening. The service lasts for 45 minutes and each week is different. The praise band play for the whole service and we try to sing more modern worship songs. Each week is different – sometime we have a café night for all those biscuits lovers out there and usually that night someone you know from church will be speaking about their life and what being a Christian means to them. Other nights we have an informal communion, or a guest speaker talking about a moral issue or teaching us about Christians who live in other places. On the first Sunday of every month we have the Hub multimedia service which is created with your age group in mind and we try to connect learning about Jesus with things you experience in your everyday world. We look forward to seeing you all there before YF and Footsteps.

@ 19:45 – 21:00 in the Meeting Room, East Calder
Leaders: Jill Dunlop, Chris Finegan, Kay Gardiner and Peter Wilson
If you are in 1st -3rd year at High School in August 2008 you are invited to YF on a Sunday evening. We are going to be focussing this year on getting to know one another and getting to know what it means to be a Christian. Every month we will be having two focus nights where we will be learning together and two social nights where we can invite our friends along too. Perhaps you can start thinking of some new activities we can try together. So come along to YF and let’s start each week together, with God.

Venue: East Calder Church Hall Meeting Room
@ 19:30 – 21:00
Leaders: Sarah Finegan and Lorna Dunlop
If you are in 4th year at High School in August 2008 or have left school but are 20 or under, come along to Footsteps twice a month on a Sunday evening. We have changed it from a Tuesday evening for the first part of term, as a trial, to see if it will allow some others to join our group. This group is for socialising and spiritualizing your life. You will have the chance to get to know other Christian young people your age and learn together about what it means to follow Jesus as a young adult. We will make sure that there is time to do some deep thinking about our faith but we will also be spending a lot of timing hanging out and getting to know one another better. Bring along your questions and your ideas for the group and let’s use this time to encourage each other to live a life that pleases God. Our first meeting will be at Sarah and Chris’s house, 261 Main Street, East Calder, EH 53 0ED on the 7th of September to have coffee and plan our programme together. Please bring along a donation each week (around 50p) to go towards some “eats” to share.
